Terms & Conditions
How We Handle Payments
We kindly ask that you make your payments up front each month. If your little dancer can't make it to class, we can't offer refunds for those missed days. But don't worry, in special cases, we're always open to discuss different arrangements. You know, we're all about flexibility, not just in dance, but in everything we do at Holmes Dance Academy.
Private lessons: If you need to cancel a private class, no problem! Just drop us an email at info@holmesdance.co.uk at least 48 hours before the class. If you do so, we'll happily reschedule your lesson. If not, the fees will still apply.
Workshops: To secure a spot in our workshops, we need full payment in advance. If we have to cancel the workshop because of something on our end, we'll refund you in full.
Class Cancellations: If we have to cancel a class due to something we did (or didn't do), we'll either make up for the lost time or deduct the fee from next month's dues. On the rare occasion that extreme weather conditions affect classes and we feel it is in the pupils’ interest to close, we will cancel classes and notify everyone in the morning. If classes are missed due to weather conditions pupils can attend the same class at a different time or different date.
We might change the fees from time to time, but we promise to give you heads up as soon as we can.
Monthly Notice Cancellation Policy
If your child decides they'd rather try a different hobby, that's okay! We just need a written notice two weeks in advance. Please note, the fees will still apply until the end of the notice period, even if they can't attend the classes. But if a medical issue comes up (with a doctor's note), we can put the membership on hold.
Being There Matters
We believe that practice makes perfect, so we encourage all our students to maintain at least 80% attendance.
Group Choreography: If we're preparing for a competition or a performance, and a student's attendance falls below 80%, we might need to change their part or, if necessary, remove them from a section or the entire piece.
Dressing Up & Lost Items
Lessons: We ask students to wear appropriate attire and shoes suitable for their dance activity. Safety first, right? If we think a student's outfit isn't safe, we might have to ask them not to participate in the activity.
And finally, while we always try to take care of lost items, we can't be held accountable for items that go missing. If we find anything left behind, we'll put it in the lost property for you to collect.
Caring, Safety, and Conduct:
We understand that trust is a big part of dancing, and at times, it may be necessary to physically guide your child during their dance lessons for their growth, development and safety. We assure you, this is always done in a caring, respectful manner, keeping your child's wellbeing at heart.
At Holmes Dance Academy, we strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment for all our students while they are with us.
We make every effort to ensure their actions or inactions do not lead to any foreseeable harm to students.
However, please note that our responsibility extends only to the safety of students within our premises.
While we continuously aim to minimize any risk of personal injury within our practical boundaries, we recognise that accidents can occur, and physical activities can inherently carry some risk. By enrolling in our programs, students and guardians acknowledge and accept this minimal risk.
Medical Details
You must declare any medical issues at the time of registration. If these change down the line you must report the changes to info@holmesdance.co.uk as well as update your Class for Kids account so that we can notify staff.
Photos and Videos:
We love to celebrate our student’s achievements and progress! Occasionally, we might take photos of students during class to update you on your child's growth. With your permission, we might also use these photos for promotional purposes on our social media, websites, and print. Rest assured, we will only use photos of your child with your prior consent, which you can withdraw anytime by notifying our management.
Please note, we kindly ask parents to refrain from taking photos or videos during class to maintain a focused and respectful learning environment.
Respecting our Terms and Conditions:
We believe in maintaining a respectful and harmonious environment. If any of our terms and conditions are seriously breached or if there's any serious misconduct, we may have to ask the student to leave. This is to ensure that every student has a positive and enriching experience at our academy
